frantisek storm

the woman at the entrance of the "academy of art and design" in prague said that there is no frantisek storm in the building but maybe something in our communication went wrong. we tried to reach frantisek on his mobile but there was only a "beep". when we asked some students we were sent some floors higher, to the "atelier pismo a typografie". the studio was filled with different posters and fonts of his students. beneath his work as a graphic and font designer he also works as a teacher. while we are confronted with concrete tasks at the fachhochschule, mr. storms students create their own projects which are supervised by frantisek. for him it is important that his students follow their ideas for fonts, even if they are not for commercial use. a first contact with type design is even though very important for him. we would have been glad if frantisek had had more time for us but assignments were scheduled and so we could not longer talk to TDC new york award winning frantisek storm…
